Role Summary 

The Student Information System (SIS) Administrator role will work to ensure all of our data is clean, clear, and well managed. This role will report to the Director of Educational Technology and Analytics.

As the SIS Administrator you'll support data and technology across True North. We are looking for a SIS Administrator to join our team that will help manage our SIS and other critical data systems. This person will support creating a strong data ecosystem, where effective and trustworthy data entry and reporting is supported by strong systems and processes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Systems Administration

    • Become a subject matter expert in our SIS, FACTS; ensure student information system is functional and easy to access for all relevant stakeholders, including initial setup and ongoing maintenance of each system

    • Assist in creating and managing user accounts and credentials.

    • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure proper system access and permissions.

    • Work on Clever integration tasks, ensuring that data syncs correctly between platforms.

  • Data Entry & QA

    • Ensure all relevant student data from external sources (enrollment, state testing, etc.) is maintained in True North’s systems

    • Input and update student course requests and schedule information into the SIS

    • Perform regular reviews of SIS data for data accuracy and completeness

  • SIS Data Governance

    • Work with registrars, IT staff, and school administrators to develop, implement, and document processes for clean and accurate data entry and maintenance

    • Continuously work to improve data entry, reporting and documentation

  • Reporting & Analysis

    • Support data analysis to provide reports and summaries for key stakeholders (e.g. run routine SIS reports and test-related data summaries, upload test score data files to the data warehouse)

    • Collaborate with registrars, IT staff, and school administrators to identify data-related needs and priorities.

  • Customer Service

    • Keep track of requests, provide updates on task progress, and ensure timely delivery of data reports.

    • Communicate effectively to clarify data requirements and follow up on outstanding issues.

    • Respond to stakeholder questions in a timely manner

 

Qualifications

Strong candidates will have:

  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and multi-task

  • Strong and effective communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Data organization, cleaning, analysis, and reporting experience

  • Able to excel in a fast-paced environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

  • Open to learning new tools, systems, and procedures as the data environment evolves.

  • Able to learn from feedback and continuously improve data handling processes.

  • Experience working with FACTS SIS is a plus

  • Experience in K-12 Education is a plus
