Role Summary
True North is seeking a Information Systems & Data Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring our data is clean, clear, and well-managed, contributing to a strong and effective data ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Educational Technology and Analytics, this position will support data and technology systems across True North, focusing on managing our Student Information System (SIS) and other critical data platforms.

The ideal candidate will excel in creating and maintaining trustworthy data entry and reporting systems, supporting processes, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Become a subject matter expert in our SIS, FACTS, ensuring the system is functional and accessible for all relevant stakeholders.

  • Manage the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of the SIS and other related systems.

  • Assist in creating and managing user accounts and credentials.

  • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure proper system access and permissions.

  • Work on Clever integration tasks, ensuring accurate data synchronization between platforms.

Data Entry & QA

  • Ensure all relevant student data from external sources (e.g., enrollment, state testing) is accurately maintained in True North’s systems.

  • Input and update student course requests and scheduling information in the SIS.

  • Perform regular reviews of SIS data for accuracy and completeness.

SIS Data Governance

  • Collaborate with registrars, IT staff, and school administrators to develop, implement, and document processes for clean and accurate data entry and maintenance.

  • Continuously improve data entry, reporting, and documentation procedures.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Support data analysis by providing reports and summaries for key stakeholders (e.g., routine SIS reports, test-related data summaries).

  • Upload test score data files to the data warehouse.

  • Work with stakeholders to identify data-related needs and priorities.

Customer Service

  • Track requests, provide updates on task progress, and ensure timely delivery of data reports.

  • Communicate effectively to clarify data requirements and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Respond to stakeholder questions and concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Have the ability to adapt, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Possess strong and effective communication skills.

  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.

  • Have experience in data organization, cleaning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where small teams share a broad variety of responsibilities.

  • Are open to learning new tools, systems, and procedures as the data environment evolves.

  • Show a commitment to continuous improvement through feedback and process optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with FACTS SIS.

  • Experience in K-12 education.
