About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate English/ Literature - Humane Letters teacher for grades 6–12 who has a deep love for the humanities and is skilled in guiding Socratic discussions. The ideal candidate will work closely with school leaders, colleagues, students, and parents, fostering a collaborative environment.
The Humane Letters course is a cornerstone of our classical, liberal arts curriculum. It comprises double-period Socratic seminars focusing on the greatest works of literature, history, and philosophy.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Understand classical education and are aligned with the school's mission.
- Elevate classroom learning to develop students' sense of wonder and a love of learning.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and develop a culture of excellence.
- Work cooperatively with True North's instructional coaches to learn from feedback and improve the quality of instruction.
- Communicate with parents regularly regarding all aspects of their child's performance and make provisions for being available outside normal hours; work with parents to encourage participation in their child's learning experiences.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from a fully accredited college or university.
- Certification is not required to teach at True North.
- Candidates must be familiar with and align with the classical liberal arts curriculum and philosophy employed at True North Classical Academy.
- Candidates must see education as a vocation and are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for the success of all students.
